Words to live by: The 10 most impactful books of the last 100 years

My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers has been selected as the single most influential book of the past 100 years in poll by Christian Music Planet magazine. Christian Music Planet magazine polled "pastors, literature aficionados and ordinary people who like to read" on which books have made the biggest impact on their lives.

The book that made the strongest overall impression with the most people was Oswald Chamber’s classic daily devotional My Utmost for His Highest. “Published in the United States in 1935, this compilation of concise scriptural teachings was assembled by Oswald Chambers’ wife. Most of the devotionals are taken directly from short sermons Chambers gave at a Bible college in England and at Y.M.C.A huts in Egypt. Each one begins with a verse and expounds briefly in a way that has continued to have a huge spiritual impact on successive generations.”
