From Good to Great15 Steps to Transforming Your Marriage Into All It Was Meant to Be
Uhrichsville, OH—According to a 2004 study by the Barna Research Group, born-again Christians are just as likely to divorce as are non-Christians. According to Christian psychologist Dr. David Clarke, marriages break down when needs are not met—but by following God’s blueprint for marriage, this important relationship can remain strong and love between spouses can continue to grow.
“Marriage is the most difficult, complicated, and frustrating human relationship,†said Clarke. “It is also the one human relationship that can always get better and deeper and more intimate.â€
In his upcoming release, The Total Marriage Makeover (Barbour Publishing, July 2006), Clarke leads couples through a practical plan based on meeting one another’s needs to help transform their marriages into what God wants them to be. The step-by-step plan based on the author’s counseling ministry, his own marriage, and the Bible, includes fifteen Marriage Makeover Achievements that cover topics such as how to be a romancer, how to listen better, and how to resolve conflict.
Throughout the book, Clarke discusses such topics as:
ü The myth of infatuation
ü The five types of marriages
ü How to step up as a husband
ü How to be a great lover
ü The true meaning of submission
ü How husbands can be spiritual leaders
ü How to resolve pain from the past
“You can stay in your marriage as it is now, or you can build a fulfilling, passionate, intimate, ‘one flesh,’ Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31 marriage,†writes Clarke. “The marriage you’ve always wanted. The marriage that God has always wanted for you. It’s up to you.â€
